2013 Model of Excellence Award for

"Going Above and Beyond" Integrating Science through Writing!

Railway students learning through Math, Science and Technology

~~     On October 24, 2013 educators from throughout Riverside County gathered for the Eleventh Annual Education Summit. It is at this summit that the County Superintendent recognizes schools with outstanding educational programs and practices throughout the county.  Each year schools are encouraged to apply for the Models of Excellence Award.

It is with great pride that we announce that Railway School of Math, Science and Technology was selected as the recipient of the 2013 Models of Excellence Award for "Going Above and Beyond" in the integration of Science through Writing.

This is the second time where Perris Elementary School District's magnet program was selected for this prestigious honor. Proudly representing their friends and colleagues from Railway School of Math, Science and Technology were Claudia Velez, Principal and teachers Pat Escalante, Tricia Stanier, and Charlene Busch.  Kenn Young, County Superintendent of Schools, presented our staff with a beautiful plaque commemorating Railway’s success.
